Road diary: Bike Week with the Rocket Queens

Road diary: Bike Week with the Rocket Queens

Bike Week 2017 took us to New Hampshire, Maine, and all the way up to New Brunswick to rock with over 200 lady bikers from all over Canada and as far away as Pittsburgh.

Laconia NH  – the legendary Broken Spoke Saloon

Thanks to the legendary Broken Spoke in Laconia for giving us our Bike Week debut!  Massive crowd turned out in the hot hot heat to catch the show, and we partied with most of them well into the wee hours.  World’s Largest Biker Bar is no joke–this place is huge!

Arundel ME – Bentley’s Bike Week

We moved on from the Broken Spoke to Bentley’s in Maine for their Bike Week closeting party and ride-up bike show.  So many gorgeous hogs!

Some riders followed us from Laconia, and a few even came up from Poughkeepsie to catch the show.  Probably the hardest we have ever rocked in a mid-afternoon…since the week before.

Being a serious bunch, we availed ourselves of the local facilities before making an overnight drive to the country just north of Saint John NB, where we rolled in just in time for sunrise.

Saint John NB – Pepper’s Pub

Sunrise north of Saint John

Funky little club date and an amazing crowd gave us a taste of what was to come.  People in Saint John party hard!

Penobsquis NB – the Backroad Ball

This was our second all-female moto event in as many years.  We can’t say enough amazing things about women who ride and we’re so happy to be a part of the amazing family of badass babes that is growing on the East Coast and around the globe.  The Backroad Ball was no exception.

Our opening act was literally a bunch of women playing with fire.

And the crowd was on fire for the whole night, too.

We had the opportunity to jam with some pole dancers, who turned out to be Canadian national champions!

This is still blowing our minds 😻 #Repost @chrissyj1329 ・・・ Some more clips from my performance last night @thebackroadball with @therocketqueens 🎸🎸🎸 When the guitar solo started all I can remember is thinking how on earth am I gonna power through for another five minutes 😳thankfully I was dancing for a supportive crowd feeding me with tones of positive vibes and energy 🤘🏻💙 So grateful of this experience and can't wait to land more live band gigs! If you're a band and looking for some extra spice to your show, message me! 🙂🙃 #guitarsolo #liveband #therocketqueens #thebackroadball #bikerbabes #poleperformance #music #outdoors #party #thesongthatneverends #beastmode

It’s literally impossible not to have a good time with these ladies.  Here we are with Anneke Russell and Christine Johnson after the show.

It got a little wild later on.  Butt wild.

@jesselynn909 killin' it in the 'Hurt Yurt' with her amazing tattoos 🤘 #brb2017 #thebackroadball #backroadball #tattoos #womenofmoto

And even wilder, even later.

We didn't have any fun with @therocketqueens… None at all… 😆 📷: @jessie_belle4

And we made some lifelong friends that we’ll think of fondly for a long time to come.

Thanks so much to Kristin Lee and Glen McLean for organizing and hosting the event, respectively.  We hope to see your whole crazy moto posse again somewhere down the road!

PS – there’s an unfamiliar face in some of these photos!  Many thanks to Zoe Friedman for filling in as our ‘Road Axl’ for a few dates this summer.
